What is the difference between "Multimedia speakers" and "Home theatre system" ?

i wanna buy Music system to connect with my PC,plz tell should i buy "Multimedia speakers" or "Home theatre system" ? which one is more suitble with PC ? i wanna powerful and clearest sound.waiting for good suggestions.

there is a huge difference of performance but if u want a powerful system, home theatre is ur choice boy. Buy a good 5.1 or 7.1 home theatre system and it should rock for sure.
